Here's a picture you all might enjoy. Did I mention that I'm teaching one class at EMU this fall? College writing. I have two stories out at magazines right now. Haven't heard back from either one.
I started a new story this week. It is going well, though I am tending to overwrite. I can take it all out later.

What a cute picture. When were they all out? Congratulations on your class that you'll be teaching. You'll be a fun prof. Sophie gets her cast off today. We're all very excited because it smells really bad.
i love the picture. i don't think i ever told you that i really liked the "village" story. it was interesting to read a story in third person. it is third person? do send me more stories- i am bored out of my gourd. who knew babies aren't all that interesting. oh and about aaron being dumb... i joke, i joke. we all know he could outscore any of us on a math test. lata.
Gretchen-
The village story is first person plural. If you want to read a good book, check out Gina Oschner's "People I Wanted To Be." She was a guest lecturer at my last residency, and I was inspired to write the village after hearing her read one of her stories. She's great. "The Hurler" is my favorite story.
Heather, does the cast smell like poo? Cause that's real bad if it does. Did you guys ever get a Mac? Tony and Brenda came out over Memorial Day weekend. We had a great time. The kids all got along. In fact, I think Aaron was quite enamored with Shanti...young love.
Lily kissed a boy a day care today. And then when he tried to kiss her back, she ran away. Oh God. I'll be a grandpa before I know it.

No, not like poo, more like a really sour rag. It's off now. She seems to feel free without it. She finally gets to take a real bath tonight. Yes we have a mac now. I love it but Ryan's still not sure. Did you see the web page I created? http://web.mac.com/ryryal There are more pics to our new house and some pics of the girls. Let me know what you think.
right...first person plural...yeah, i knew that. whatever, the important thing is that i like it. i'll check out miss gina.
hey chad, i'd love to read your stories too if you don't mind sending them along...short stories are about all i can manage until my children move out of the house and i will no longer have to spend time picking rice out of the tile crevices in the kitchen floor...
